Advising
Those looking to complete an entire bachelor degree from the Janesville campus will take general education and pre-engineering courses with UW-Rock, as well as Electrical or Mechanical major courses through UW-Platteville. Since each school has its own requirements, you’ll work with different advisors along the way to help you best understand your needs:
1. Students only enrolled in UW-Rock courses should work with the Collaborative Program Director to determine proper pre-engineering course choices and with UW-Rock’s Student Services office to understand/complete Associate degree requirements
2. Students enrolled in only pre-engineering UW-Rock courses OR taking their 1st semester of UW-Platteville courses (often in balance with courses from UW-Rock) should work with the Collaborative Program Director
3. After 1 semester of UWP major coursework, students are assigned a UWP faculty advisor
During any UWP advising appointment, students are given a PIN to remove the advising hold in PeopleSoft. It is the student’s responsibility to register for courses. Prepare for your advising appointment by reviewing course schedules and our philosophy in planning course offerings.
Advising Tools
- EE Requirement Checklist
- EE Core Requirements Flow-Chart
- ME Requirement Checklist
- ME Core Requirements Flow-Chart
- Multi-Term Planner – for future course scheduling
- PeopleSoft Registration Guide
The checklists show which courses come from what school, and when you are eligible to take those courses. The flow charts are a visual tool to connect prerequisites for basic engineering-related courses.
