Textbooks
While UW-Rock (non-major) course texts need to be purchased directly by you from Rock’s bookstore, your UW-Platteville tuition and fees payment each semester covers your costs for textbooks!
UW-Platteville’s Textbook Center checks on course registration 2 weeks before the semester starts and then mass delivers text materials to the UW-Rock campus for each registered student here. Items are made available to you as soon as they arrive.
Text Distribution
The Collaborative Program Director contacts students whose materials have arrived so that you may pick them up early. At the latest, provided you are registered 2 weeks before classes begin, you will receive course-related text materials at your first class meeting.
- Review your personal information printed at the top of the booklist, noting any changes/corrections
- Check all texts for damage – note specific damage and its location on the bottom of the booklist
- Read the Textbook Center Policies and Procedures (the opposite side of the booklist), print your name clearly at the top and sign at the bottom
- Complete the forms entitled “Wisconsin Marital Property Act” and “UW Platteville Installment Credit Agreement”
- Return both forms to your instructor or the Collaborative Program Director, keeping the extra copy of each for your records
Text Returns
At the end of each semester, we collect your EE or ME textbooks to return them to the UWP Textbook Center. Place all of your rented items (textbook, CD with case, etc) in the box marked “UWP Text Return” in the E 10 lab or in the E 06 classroom. Return materials after finishing a Final Exam or a design project, but NO LATER THAN THE LAST DAY OF EXAMS. We mass- ship materials back to UWP campus as the return boxes fill, with a final shipment sent the morning after exams have ended.
Please note that UWP’s main campus may have an earlier return deadline, due to differences in Final Exam scheduling at each campus. While the UWP campus deadline might not apply to you, since your exams at UW-Rock are still taking place, UWP’s PeopleSoft system will default to “think” that you are late in returning your books. So long as you follow our program’s procedure, the Textbook Center staff will remove any “late penalty” once they receive your materials from our shipment(s).
